It looks like the mystery has finally been solved. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is going to announce on March 14th, according to Eldar Murtazin, who is the founder of Mobile-review, a Russian website. Murtazin is cited by Sammobile, and apparently the “next big thing” will be unveiled by Samsung one day earlier that was previously rumored. The Russian publisher also mentioned that the company will show us the device at an event that will take place in New York.
Murtazin has provied other tips which turned out to be accurate, so I think that he can be seens as a pretty reliable source.
Okay, so we already knew that Samsung won’t be present at this year’s Mobile World Congress. The company is not to be blames because being a major player on the mobile market, you don’t want to share the media’s attention with your rivals. So, considering that Apple is holding an event of its own, HTC as well, it’s only natural that Samsung to do the same thing.
So March is indeed the best time to announce the Samsung Galaxy S4. As for the location, this wouldn’t be the first time when Samsung launches one of its products, so there is absolutely no surprise here. Plus, this is another reason to think that March 14th isn’t just another rumored release date that will prove to be incorrect eventually.
The rumored specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S4 are kind of the same mentioned in most reports. The only piece of hardware that is still questionable is the processor. The ideal one, and which has been previously rumored, would be the Exynos 5. This baby includes no less than eight cores, so almost everyone hopes that this would be the CPU sported by the Samsung Galaxy S4. But there is another processor that will probably be packed by a regional model of the device, namely the US version. It appears that the people in the United States won’t have the opportunity to enjoy the octa-core beast, as it is said that the US version of the GS4 will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU.
Anyway, we’ll se what kind of processor it will pack. Other rumored specs that need to be mentioned: a 5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD screen, a Mali T678 (eight-core) GPU, 2GB of RAM and a 13 MP rear camera that reportedly will be capable of recording full HD video. The interesting thing is that even the front camera which will have only 2MP will be able to shoot 720p HD videos. And yes, I almost forgot, the Samsung Galaxy S4 will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean right out of the box.
One more thing, if Samsung announces the Galaxy S4 on March 14th, then the device will be available for purchase probably at the beginning of April.
