Samsung Galaxy S4 Release Date Is March 15th, Says Source

Samsung Galaxy S4 release date

The Samsung Galaxy S4 release date was set for March 15th. Well, even though the South Korea-based company didn’t confirm the date itself, the guys at SamMobile are quoting trusted sources from within the company, also adding that the next-gen flagship will be launched at at Samsung Upacked event.

The same publication writes that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will go on sale in early April, while the East European countries will be the first to get their hands on the new Samsung terminal. It’s a bit odd knowing that most of the Samsung flagships made the market debut in the Western Europe countries, like France, Germany, and UK.

All the clues are pointing towards an early Samsung Galaxy S4 release date. SamMobile also informs that the launch of the next-gen Galaxy S accessories is planned for the 15th week of the year. Since there’s no point in launching Samsung Galaxy S4 without a Samsung Galaxy S4 on the market, it seems that, after all the flagship will hit the market sooner than expected.

The location of the Samsung Unpakced event where the Galaxy S4 will be announced is well-kept secret, but since last year’s event was held in London and it was auspicious for the Galaxy S flagship, maybe the South Korean company will choose the same city to unveil the new terminal.

As you probably noticed most of the speculations are tipping that the Samsung Galaxy S4 release date will be scheduled earlier. Samsung would want their flagship smartphone to hit the market close enough to the MWC 2013 event, but, in the same time, earlier enough to be able to hurt iPhone 5′s sales.

Mobile World Congress is right around the corner, and most of the Android-powered smartphone makers will introduce their flagship smartphones at the Barcelona-based event. Sony already announced the Xperia Z at CES 2103, HTC is rumored to debut the M7 on February, while LG and Huawei are expected to bring the Optimus G Pro and Ascend P2 , respectively at MWC 2013. Most of the smartphones presented at MWC are hitting the market in the following month.

Samsung would want it’s Galaxy S4 to be announced before the competition makes its flagships available for purchase, in order to draw the public’s attention from them.

Samsung Galaxy S4 must also hit the market early enough to be able to hurt iPhone 5′s sales. Just like it happened last year, the smartphone that will bite off iPhone 5S’ (or iPhone 6) market share will be the next-gen Samsung phablet, namely the Galaxy Note 3.

Besides the rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S4 release date we’ve also heard a lot about the smartphone’s technical specifications. According to the gossip market, the SGS4 will be based on the recently announced Exynos 5 Octa platform, with octo-core A15 processor and octo-core Mali T658 GPU, plus 2 GB of RAM.

It seems that the camera will be upgraded to 13 megapixels, and because the smartphone will be launched ahead of the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie announcement, it will come pre-loaded with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz UI.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will most likely bring a full HD 5-inch display, as this seems to be the new standard for the high-end Android-powered smartphones market.

Do you believe that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be released earlier this year, or we should expect it to drop sometime in May like it happened to the Galaxy S3? Please let us know in the comments section below.
