The Samsung Galaxy S4 is a smartphone that will produce a lot of damage on the mobile market, that’s for sure. We’ve had a whole bunch of rumors about the device’s technical specs and its presumed release date. but there is anew one which claims that the company is expecting to sell more than 100 million units. This is a very big number even for the Korean company, but it’s not impossible. Considering that the Galaxy S3 was sold in over 50 million units so far, there is a big chance that the Galaxy S4 could at least put the numbers to a challenge as it seems that the new flagship is already more popular than its predecessor.
At the beginning of 2012, the company stated that the Galaxy S line was sold in over 100 million units, all put together. The original Galaxy S was bought by 20 million customers, the Galaxy S2 did even better with 40 million terminals, and finally the Galaxy S3 doing 50 million and it keeps going. As you can see, Samsung managed to sell more and more smartphones with each new flagship, thus the Galaxy S4 should pass the previous ones. I don’t know if the handset will reach the 100 million mark, but it will certainly do well.
At the end of 2012, Samsung specified that it expects a very large number of shipments, 500 million devices to be exact. The company said that it plans to sell 390 million smartphones only. Certainly, the company expects that most of the smartphones will be the Galaxy S4 units. According to some analysts, the company is getting ready to sell more than 100 million high-end handsets, and it could probably reduce the number of CPUs meant for Apple in order to take care of its own demands.
Most reports say that the Galaxy S4 will be unveiled at a Samsung Unpacked event that will take place on March 15th. As for its specs, the smartphone will allegedly come with a 5-inch full HF display, and be underpinned by a the new Snapdragon 600 APQ8064T (the previous rumors claimed that it would sport Samsung’s own octa-core Exynos 5). Rumor also has it the Samsung Galaxy S4 will pack a 13 MP camera and will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Even though, some said that the S4 will also come with an S Pen stylus, it seems that Samsung will leave that only for the Note family. This is actually a good thing, because the S Pen simply doesn’t belong next to a Galaxy S4.
There will certainly be more rumors about the flagship, although we hope for an official announcement, instead. Anyway, you should stick around.
