Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and Galaxy S4 Active Technical Specs Hit the Web

Samsung Galaxy S4 Active

Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and Samsung Galaxy S4 Active are to new smartphones that are expected to debut later this summer. The first one will reportedly come with a camera that sports 10x optical zoom, while the later model will be some sort of water and dust proof Samsung Galaxy S4. Give that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and Samsung Galaxy S4 Active have already leaked on the web, something tells me that the two aforementioned smartphones will be among the models that will be announced by the South Korean phone maker at the even scheduled for June 20th.

The leak indicates that Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom will sport a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 540×960, while running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. The processing unit underpinning the Galaxy S4 Zoom will be a dual-core unit clocked at 1.6 GHz. The terminal will also bring 8 GB of internal storage expandable using microSD cards and an impressive 16 megapixel camera mounted on the back with 10x optical zoom.

The front-facing camera of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom will have a 1.9 megapixel sensor, which would make it more than sufficient for video calls.

In terms of connectivity the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom will bring WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LTE, and, most likely, a microUSB 2.0 port. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom will not be compatible with the 4G LTE networks. All these hardware components will be powered by a 1,900 mAh battery.

As you probably know, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini was officially announced today, so, after taking a look at the Galaxy S4 Zoom specs we can say that the Samsung camera phone might be a Galaxy S4 Mini variant. For the time being we can’t say whether South Korean manufacturer will use a case similar to the one of Galaxy Camera, or whether will be an internal camera.

Let’s have a look at the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active technical specifications, a terminal that has a lot in common with the Samsung Galaxy S4 flagship.

The water and dust proof smartphone comes with a 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display (probably with Corning Gorilla 3 protection) and just like the other smartphones of the Galaxy S4 family will come pre-loaded with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz Nature UX on top of it.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will be underpinned by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset based on four Krait 300 cores clocked at 1.9 GHz and Adreno 320 GPU. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will also come with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, also supporting microSD cards of up to 64 GB.

The connectivity features of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active recommend it as a modern smartphone, the handset boasting WiFi: 802.11a/b/g/n, NFC chip, Bluetooth 4.0, IR blaster, and microUSB 2.0. Anyway, there’s no mention about 4G LTE support but we know that Galaxy S4 Active will have a 2,600 mAh batter and that it will be thicker than the Galaxy S4 flagship.

If you compare the above mentioned Samsung Galaxy S4 Active technical specifications with the hardware platform of the Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 you can definitely say that we are looking at a variant of Sammy’s flagship smartphone. Still I don’t believe that the South Korea-based phone maker will be able to out a water and dust proof smartphone that looks better than the Xperia Z. Anyway, we are waiting for the official announcement to see how thick is a Samsung Galaxy S4 that is water and dust proof.
