If are reading this from the UK and you plan on purchasing Samsung’s new flagship, we have good news for you , because starting March 28 you will be able pre-order the Galaxy S5 from “selected” retailers. When the Korean phone maker introduced the S5 late February, their representatives announced that the handset will be made available for purchase April 11 in over 150 countries.
By the time the Samsung pre-orders begin in the UK, HTC will have officially introduced the One 2014, therefore the buyers should be able to decide which of the two handsets is better for them. As you probably know, the Taiwanese company announced that they will launch the HTC One successor on March 25, during a press event held in New York.
The South Korean company said that the handset will be available directly from Samsung, as well as from the Stratford Westfield Experience Store, but failed to reveal anything about it’s price. For what its worth, UK retailers Clove and Unlockd Mobiles are already accepting Galaxy S5 pre-orders at a price of £550.
As a refresher, the Samsung Galaxy S5 features a 5.1-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, quad-core 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 16 MP rear-facing camera, 16/32 GB native storage, microSD support, and a 2,800 mAh battery. As I was mentioning above, the S5 was introduced late February during the Unpack event alongside Samsung’s new smart wearables like Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and Gear Fit.
The Samsung terminal comes pre-loaded with Android 4.4.2 KitKat customized with TouchWiz UI, has a hard rate monitor, a fingerprint sensor, and an IP67-certified design, meaning it’s dust and water proof.
