Good news folks! Samsung Galaxy S5 root has been achieved for the Verizon and AT&T variants of the device. The root solution was developed by well-known hacker geohot, so if you were planning to root your Verizon or AT&T Galaxy S5 you can now take advantage of this new root solution.
Geohot mentions in an XDA post that his root solution works for both AT&T and Verizon Galaxy S5 models, along with Galaxy S4 Active and Nexus 5. He also said that it may also work with the AT&T and Verizon Note 3 and that it could possibly work for “every Android phone with a kernel build date before June 3.”
In case you want to root your AT&T or Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 using geohot’s twoelroot all you need to do is head to the dedicated website here, click the lambda, install the APK file, then run towelroot. It’s that easy. On the aforementioned XDA Developers post geohot also says that towelroot may not affect KNOX and even though his phone says “KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0″ he doesn’t promise it will be the same for everyone else.
Because twelroot is in the early stages of development you might as well encounter some bugs. Don’t forget to report them to geohot and if you enjoyed his root don’t forget to support his work and donate.
It’s also worth noting that in certain countries rooting your Android device is still illegal, so you might end up voiding your phone’s warranty after you apply the root. We don’t recommend rooting your Android smartphone if you have no idea what you’re doing. Android Geeks should and will not be held responsible in any way for the damage you do to your device before or after the root.
