Yesterday, we’ve found out that Samsung will host an Unpacked event on February 24 at MWC in Barcelona and that the chances are we’ll see the Galaxy S5 in flash at the respective event. Now we get to have a look at the Samsung Galaxy S5 specs, courtesy of Eldar Murtazin.
In December, Murtazin tweeted that the Samsung Galaxy S5 release date has been set for February 23 which means that the Russian blogger was only one day wrong. Now, Murtazin is at it again and he has some information about the Galaxy S5 specs.
According to him, Samsung’s next-gen flagship smartphone will pack a 5.24-inch AMOLED screen with 2560×1440 resolution and 560ppi pixel density, while being powered by either an octo-core Exynos 6 processor or a quad-core Snapdrago 805 processor. Murtazin also writes that the handset will come with 3 GB of RAM, 32/64 GB of internal storage, and a 3,200 mAh battery. He also adds that it will pack a 16 MP primary camera and a 3.2 user-facing camera.
As you can probably notice, Murtazin’s report adds nothing new to the rumored Galaxy S5 specs that were already roaming around for a while. The rumor mill also speculates that the S5 will have a fingerprint sensor in order to compete against Apple’s iPhone 5S.
Even though there were whispers saying the highly-anticipated smartphone will pack an OIS module, recent reports have shown that Samsung might not use optical image stabilization for S5’s camera, as the Koreans can manufacture enough modules to fulfill the demand.
It seems that the Galaxy S5 will run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, of course, customized with Samsung’s own user interface. Rumor has it that Samsung will cut down the Android customizations as a result to a pact made by the Koreans with Google at CES 2014.
We have less then a month left until the Galaxy S5 announcement? Any expectations? Are you looking forward towards any particular features?
