Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 WiFi-only Now Available In India At $265

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 311

The Galaxy S4 is probably the most awaited device developed by Samsung. However, that’s just the smartphone area. Now, we’re going to talk about tablets. The next two handsets that Samsung is going to release are the Galaxy Tab 3 Plus and the Galaxy Note 8. However, when I talk about these two tablet being release, I mean in North America and Europe, as in other regions the launch of these kinds of products are usually delayed from some for some reason. One of these regions is India, and despite the fact that it’s a very important market, in my opinion, the Indians are just getting the 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 311 (Wi-Fi only), finally.

The reason for the delay is unknown, maybe the company was busy preparing its new flagships, but the reality is that the Wi-Fi only version comes more than 8 moths after the release of the 3G version. The Galaxy Tab 2 311 has about the same technical specifications as the 3G version, but lacking the SIM slot, of course.

However, it’s not all bad that Samsung delayed the release of the tablet because now it will come with an updated operating system. In other words, the Indian customers will get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean right out of the box. In case you don’t already know, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 311 comes with a 7-inch display with a pixel resolution of 1024 x 600, a 1Ghz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded via microSD up to 32GB. Also, it sports a 3 megapixel rear shooter and a 0.3MP front-facing one. As for the battery, the device will come equipped with a 4,000 mAh one.

Those willing to buy the Galaxy Tab 2 311 should know that the price is┬áRs 13,900 (~$265), which is pretty competitive, but it can’t be compared with the pricing of the local devices. For example, the Lava ETab XTron has just been launched. It’s a tablet produced by a local manufacturer that has similar specs to the Galaxy Tab 2 311. The only difference, an important one for most users, is that it’s available at less than half the price of Samsung’s handset. So you see, no matter how good of an offer would the international companies come up with, it’s almost impossible to compete with the local manufacturers when it comes to prices.

Nevertheless, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 still remains a quality tablet, and if you decide to buy a product from a popular company, this one it definitely a good choice.

I already mentioned the price of the Galaxy Tab 2 311, and if you want to purchase it you can do it by accessing the official Samsung India eStore.
