Samsung is working around the clock to the next-gen Galaxy Tab line-up, unofficially dubbed Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, and recent rumors are indicating that the South Koreans might launch several models in the same time. It seems that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 will be launched both in 8 and 10.1-inch variants, the first one being already confirmed by several sources.
The new Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 models will hit the market to replace the current generation Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.
According to sources quoted by Sammobile, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will be powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz (most likely Samsung’s proprietary Exynos 5 Dual), 1 GB of RAM and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. Even though it wasn’t mentioned what chipset will underpin the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 we think it’s the Exynos 5 Dual CPU with two Cortex A15 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz plus the Mali-T604 GPU.
The 10.1-inch tablet will have a resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels, 3 megapixel primary camera and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing sensor. Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will come with 16 GB of internal storage, expandable using microSD cards.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will sport 3G HSPA+ connectivity and 4G LTE, but it will also be a WiFi-only variant. According to the rumors the tablet will measure 256,7 x 175,3 x 8,7 mm, weight of 533 grams and a 7000 mAh battery.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 will have the same dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, but according to the leaked specs it will boast 2 GB of RAM. Even though we are talking about an 8-inch display, the resolution will be the same of the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. The cameras and the operating system will be identical, too.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 will also come with 3G HSPA+, 4G LTE, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0, and it seems that the South Koreans will introduce two models: SM-T3100 with 16 GB of storage and 3G/4G connectivity and SM-T3110 with 16 GB of storage and WiFi only.
Rumor has it that Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 will be 112.1 mm wide, 209.6 mm tall and 6.95 mm thin, while weighing 330 grams and packign a 4,500 mAh battery.
If the rumors are accurate, the first Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 WiFi-only model will be released mid-June, followed by the 4G + WiFi model in early July.
