Samsung has become lately on of the most popular tablet and smartphone manufacturer worldwide, as the company is providing numerous devices (mostly Android powered ones) suitable for different types of users and customers. The critics are saying that this is happening due to the Android platform which is being featured in most of the Samsung handsets, a true observation, though I have to add that the South Korean Telecom Group popularity is straight related to what it offers: a large area of smartphones and tablets from low range, budget friendly devices, to high end and expensive gadgets.

This is why, perhaps, there are just few phones and tablets that were officially updated to Ice Cream Sandwich, though Samsung had promised that once the Android 4.0 firmware is released, most of its devices will be shortly updated with the same. Who knows, maybe they were too preoccupied with the launch of the Galaxy S 3 smartphone, which as we all know is one of the most wanted handset nowadays. Anyway, the most important aspect is related to another thing: apparently, Samsung will release official ICS updates for its Galaxy Tab 10.1, 8.9, 7.7, and 7.0 Plus tablets and let’s say that it was about time!

According to our sources, the updates will be made available starting from next month, but not all the up mentioned devices will receive it at the same time. In fact, the upgrades will start in July and will end in August, though there are no words about which tablet will receive the ICS flavor first and which will have to wait until last moment. Of course you will be able to OTA (Over The Air) apply the same, but don’t worry, in case you miss it, we will bring suitable how to guides for learning the manual method suitable for your version of Galaxy Tab.

Now, let’s see which are the variants of the Galaxy Tab that are set to receive the official Samsung ICS update: GT-P6210 Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0 WIFI, GT-P6200 Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0 WIFI + 3G, GT-P6810 Galaxy Tab 7.7 WIFI, GT-P6800 Galaxy Tab 7.7 WIFI + 3G, GT-P7310 Galaxy Tab 8.9 WIFI, GT-P7300 Galaxy Tab 8.9 WIFI + 3G, GT-P7510 Galaxy Tab 10.1 WIFI, GT-P7500 Galaxy Tab 10.1 WIFI + 3G.
