Sony to Release the Xperia U Jelly Bean OTA Update in December
The holiday season is here so, as usual, we are expecting to see many Christmas gifts provided by all the major carriers and companies that are leading the gadget market from all the corners of the world, as surely Santa is being expected by all of us. Well, Sony is apparently preparing something big for its fans, because the recent rumors are offering some important details about Jelly Bean OTA updates that will be released for several devices during this month. The Xperia U smartphone will be the first to receive the Android 4.1 flavor, so if I have aroused your attention then check the following lines for further info.
You should notice that nothing is official yet so don’t put too many hopes in this, though according to our sources the Jelly Bean OTA update for the Sony Xperia U will be released in early December meaning that the Android 4.1 OS should be made available during the following days. This is coming like a pleasant surprise for us due to the fact that the official Ice Cream Sandwich ROM had just been offered by Sony for the same Xperia U (which was running on the Gingerbread platform) handset therefore a Jelly Bean improvement wasn’t expected, at least not so soon.
As I have mentioned in the introduction, the Android 4.1 update should also be made available for other devices, the Xperia Go, Sola, and P being ready to receive the latest version of the Android system during this month. The exact date hasn’t been leaked but all should happen in December so you should periodically check for upgrades on your phones.
The Jelly Bean OS will be OTA (Over The Air) released meaning that you will be able to install the update right from your own Xperia U. If you will want to flash the ROM manually, you will have to use Odin as this is the only way possible. A suitable step by step guide will be made available as soon as the firmware gets out, so stay close and check our daily posts.
