Sony Released ICS Updates for Seven Xperia smartphones

Sony proved once more that it is a trustful company, as seven of its Xperia devices can now receive the Ice Cream Sandwich update. This is coming right as planned and announced, so it seems that Sony’s users are really luckily as we all know that there are so many phones and tablets that are still waiting for the big update and this after several details and excuses. Anyway, you have the list of the handsets that can now be updated with the latest Android flavor below, so for more info check it out.

We know that recently Sony rolled out ICS updates for three of its best smartphones, the Xperia Ray, Xperia Arc S, and Xperia Neo V while promising that future firmware will be pushed out shortly after this. And yes, the updates are here and can be received and OTA (Over The Air) applied by the following users (the list of handsets is displayed below):

  • Xperia Neo
  • Xperia Arc
  • Xperia Pro
  • Xperia Pro Mini
  • Xperia Mini
  • Xperia Active
  • Live Walkman

So, if you own one of the devices listed above you are in luck as the Ice Cream Sandwich experience is coming to you. We recommend you to download the latest version of PC Companion to ensure that you receive a successful update.

Furthermore, Sony announced that new ICS updates will be released for the Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U smartphones. The S will receive the upgrade during June while the P and U only in the third quarter of this year. Anyway, you can always choose to install a custom ROM or a beta firmware based on the Android 4.0 platform, but take note that you will lose the warranty. So, why not to wait for the official release?
