With the Xperia S released from a while we are eager to find news about a new Sony branded smartphone, if possible a high end one, which can be able to compete with Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S3. Not long ago, info about such a device reached our years, but since there were only few details mentioned we didn’t know what to believe. Fortunately, thanks to a leaked OpenGL benchmark test the first of the Sony ST26i specs and features aspects are now revealed. We will be checking on the same, so for further impressions check the lines from below.
First of all, there is no chance to see a high end device, as this will be a low budget smartphone, comparing it with the S3 being out of question. As you can see in the image, the ST26i is poorly equipped; the phone is having decent performances, though its only surprise being the version of the Android operating system. Furthermore, the picture of the handset is still missing, so we don’t know how the Sony ST26i will really look like.
Anyway, the specs are revealing a low range smartphone that comes with a 4 inch 480 x 854 resolution display and with a Qualcomm MSM7627A SoC CPU along with Adreno 200 GPU. The processor is rumored to be clocked at only 800 MHz though it’s also possible to see the ST26i running a more powerful one, clocked at 1GHz. As already stated, the most relevant feature to be included by Sony on its ST26i is the OS. Apparently those who will buy the phone will get it with Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed, a curious thing if we take a look over its specs. But, these are just rumors and many can be changed until the official announcement.
Unfortunately that’s all we could find so far. There are no words about the future release date, or about pricing offers, though we are expecting fresh info to be revealed in the coming days. So, stay close as we will update you as soon as something new comes to light.
