According to a new rumors, it seems that Sony might be launching two brand new high-end handsets in the second half of 2013. The two devices are known as Honami and Togari.

This report is yet to be officially confirmed, which means the information might not be accurate.

Anyway, the Togari is rumored to feature a 6.44-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, while its design is said to resemble the one of the current Sony flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z. Also, the Togari appears to have an impressive slim profile just like the Xperia Z and Xperia Tablet Z, and it will be featuring a back casing made out of glass.

The phablet would be sold in at least one color option (white), and it might be available sometime in July 2013 in Japan. If this smartphone does exists and it’s currently in development, then it probably is meant to rival Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3, and the timing is perfect as the South Korean’s next high-end device is supposed to go live a few months after the Togari. It looks like Sony likes to launch its products before Samsung, probably because the Japanese manufacturer needs a head start in order to be able to compete with Samsung. For instance, the Xperia Z was made available before the Galaxy S4.

Moving on, the Honami is another device that could become interesting, again if the rumors are true. The handset is said to be a “One Sony” model (One Sony seems to stand for all the best technology the company has at its disposal).

The Honami is a smaller device with a 5-inch full HD display, a 16/20 MP CyberShot CMOS sensor with Carl Zeiss optics, and a “dedicated Walkman audio chip”. The other specs of the Honami are even more impressive as the report says that it will be powered the still untested Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core CPU clocked at 2.3 GHz, helped by an Adreno 330 GPU, and will also come with 2 GB of RAM and a 3000 mAh battery.

But wait, there is more. Apart from that, the Honami will also boast a Triluminous display, which seems to be the manufacturer’s new tech that enables greater color tones and textures to be displayed.

Just as the Togari phablet, the Honami is supposed to be released in July in the Chinese market, while the other regions will receive it in the following months.

All these rumors have unknown sources cited by online publications. And we have Baidu, which got in contact with a person that claims to be testing Sony Xperia handsets, and local commerce website ePrice. Further, VR-Zone is the source of the information according to which the company will be implementing the Triluminous display tech in the Xperia handsets that will be launched in the future.

Of course, the two devices sound awesome when looking at the mentioned specs, but I must say once again that, even though the rumors come from three different sources, it doesn’t meant that they are actually true , thus it’s good to not get too excited, at least for now.
