Sony Xperia Honami Camera Photo Sample Confirms 20 MP Sensor
Sony Xperia Honami, the highly anticipated camera phone of the Japan-based company, has been the subject of leaks over the past couple of weeks, but this is the first time we have the certitude that it will boast a 20 megapixel camera sensor. A Sony Xperia Honami cera photo sample has been caught in the wild, revealing more about the camera sensor fitted on the back of the smartphone.
The EXIF data of the leaked Xperia Honami photo sampe revealed a resolution of 3936 x 5248 pixels which is confirming the rumors talking about a 20 megapixel shutter. The guys at Techkiddy write that the sample also shows that the camera will have an f/2.0 aperture, thus we are definetely looking at Sony’s rival for Galaxy S4 Zoom and Nokia Lumia 1090. Moreover, the Sony Xperia Honami will be underppined by a high-end hardware platform, according to the rumors.
Anyway it’s not clear yet whether the Xperia Honami will have an 8 megapixel front-facing camera like the early rumors suggested, but we are sure that we will be able to see the new terminal in flesh on September 4, during a press event held at IFA Berlin 2013 tech fair.
According to the rumor mill, the Sony Xperia Honami will pack a 5-inch full HD Triluminuous display with X-reality engine, while being powered by Qualcomm’s mighty Snapdragon 800 chipset based on a quad-core 2.2 Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. Besides 2 GB of RAM, sources say that the Xperia Honami will also come with a microSD card slot that helps you extend the 16 GB of internal flash storage.
If you are up to date with the latest rumors, you probably know that Xperia Honami’s 20 megapixel camera comes with Sony G Lens and BIONZ image processin engine, while sporting a 1/2.3 camera sensor. Reports are indicating that unlike the Xperia Z and the Xperia Z Ultra, the Honami will not be water and dust proof.
The smartphone is kept alive by a 3,000 mAh while the connectivity features include HSPA+, LTE, NFC support, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and Bluetooth 4.0. It seems that he Xperia Honami will also integrate Wifi Hotspot Function with Auto RF Power back-Off and RFID mode capabilities.
Sources say that the Sony Xperia Honami will be 144 mm tall, 73.9 mm wide, and 8.3 mm thin, making it slightly bigger than the Xperia Z.
It seems that the Sony camera phone will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Xperia UI out of the box, and that will be available in three body colors: white, black, and purple.
