Sony Xperia Ion Release Date for India Leaked; Price and Specs Announced
The Indian users can now get excited as the long awaited Sony Xperia Ion smartphone will soon be released through several online retailers from their country. The exact date is still unknown, though we managed to find out the probable one. Also, the specs and features list is available along with the future Xperia Ion price tag for India, so for the same don’t hesitate and read the next few lines. The offer which was leaked is available only for the SIM free variant of the phone, so for the other ones you should wait for the official press release.
The Xperia Ion is an interesting smartphone with decent to high end performances. Its specs are including a dual core 1.5 GHz processor, a 12 MP rear facing camera along with an 1.3 MP front facing one, 16 GB of internal storage memory, 1 GB of RAM and a large 4.55 inch display. The Ion is the first Sony (just Sony, without Ericsson) handset released and also is the first device manufactured by Sony that runs a dual core processor. On the features side, the phone is coming with the Android 4.0 operating system (some sources are saying that for India it will be offered with Gingerbread instead, ICS being promised as an update), LTE connectivity, Fast mobile data support and many others.
The Xperia Ion was first launched in US through AT&T, then it was made available in Canada through Rogers, Bell and Telus, and during May it was also offered in Taiwan and China. Of course, India couldn’t be left aside, so from what we could find out, the India Xperia Ion release date should be in two weeks from now. This is just the rumored date, so don’t put too many hopes in the same. We are expecting a press release to come and then we will know all the official aspects.
According to the same sources, the Sony Xperia Ion price tag for India should be Rs 35,999, a little bit too much if you ask me. Anyway, the smartphone is interesting indeed, so if I have aroused your interest stay close as we will update you with further news as soon as something fresh is being announced.
