SONY announced two new devices, the Xperia SP and the Xperia L. Here you can find all the info about the Specs that are features on the Xperia L ‘budget’ device.
Xperia L is not a high-end device but it should still be a great alternative for users who don’t want to spend big on a smartphone device. XperiaL comes with the 1GHz Snapdragon S4 Play dual-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 8MP Exmor RS back facing camera equipped with Exmor RS sensor that will allow you to take HDR photos and videos that will improve photo quality in low-light and bright-light scenery.
The 4.3 inch display, 8GB internal storage space with support for adding extra 32GB storage memory via microSD card, Wi-FI, HSPA+ and NFC support should be enough for day-to-day usage. There is no official info about the US price but it seems like in Europe won’t be more than 300 euros (<$400). The US price is not relevant as the phone will be launched only for Europe and Asia regions. Xperia L should be available from June 2013.
Sony Xperia L has a 1700 mAh battery and it will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. It doesn’t have LTE support. Sony has integrated their own One-Touch function that allows users to connect the phone to NFC-enabled speakers, TVs and any other gadgets using the incorporated NFC chip.
This low-end phone might sell big, but it is a great phone for those users who aren’t interested in the very last trend of Android hardware and software tools. Instead, you will still be able to enjoy the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean along with its buttery smooth UI, expandable notifications, Google Now, improved lock screen and all the other tweaks and improvements that Google added for their OS in the last year.
If you like Android phones but you don’t want to pay more than 300 euros for an off-contract device then the Xperia L is the device for you. What are your thoughts on this new phone ?
