It looks like Sony is continuing to update its products on a regular basis. This time the good news is for the owners of the Xperia handsets as they are about to receive the Jelly Bean treatment.
The manufacturer is going to roll out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for three of its Xperia smartphones, namely the Sony Xperia P, Xperia E dual, and Xperia Go. The software upgrade is going to be released starting this week.
Apart from the usual features that come along with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean such as Google Now integration, Project Butter and rich notification system, the update will also bring some Sony branded new and improved functions. The owners of the Sony Xperia P, Xperia Go, and Xperia E dual will still enjoy the battery save feature, but they will also get the company’s own Walkman feature that will gather all your video and music files into one place.
The owners of the other Xperia smartphones should not worry because they will get the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update too. Sony hasn’t mention an exact date, but it said that the update will be pushed at the end of next month for several phones like the Xperia S, Xperia SL, Xperia Ion, and Xperia acro S.
The company also says that the Xperia phones owners should bear in mind that some of them will be able to install the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update only through the PC Companion app, or Bridge in case they have a Mac.
