After a couple of terminals powered by a Snapdragon S4 Pro chipsets, Sony is ready to make the jump to the next generation of Qualcomm processing units. The Sony Xperia UL comes to confirm to us that the Japanese phone maker has big plans, a smartphone that made the headlines courtesy of a leak from cnmo.com.
The leaked pictures that hit the web are revealing an Android-powered smartphone that comes with a 5-inch display and it seems that we are looking at the Xperia UL. The design is a reminiscent of Sony Xperia ZL, with a plastic cover on the back. Xperia UL will reportedly sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC, the same unit that is underpinning the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One.
The new Sony Xperia smartphone comes with a display with full HD resolution, quad-core chipset belonging to the Snapdragon 600 tribe, 2 GB of RAM and up to 32 GB of internal storage, expandable using the microSD card slot.
Besides the 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, the Sony Xperia UL also brings a 2,300 mAh battery, thus we might say that this is some sort of Sony Honami with weaker technical specifications. We already know about Sony Honami that it will come with a Snapdragon 800 GPU and 2,700 mAh battery, plus a 5-inch full HD display.
The rubber ring that is placed around the battery compartment gives us a clue that the Sony Xperia UL will be water and dust proof.
