The Xperia Z by Sony is now available for pre-order at Sony Mobile UK with the £530 price tag.
It is expected for the flagship device of Sony should storm the 2013 smartphone market along with Samsung’s Galaxy S4 device. But, that might not be so 100% certain because the £530 pricing seems to be too high despite the fact that this is a beautiful and a pretty reliable device. It comes with a 5-inch HD Reality Display packing Mobile Bravia Engine 2, a 13MP camera for capturing fantastic shots along with the Exmor RS for mobile and HDR video that should allow users to take great videos and photos where there is lowlight.
However, if you decide to pre-order this smartphone then you will also receive a pair of Sony headphones that worth £299. Also, besides the Xperia Z device, its box will contain the EP881 quick charger, USB media cable, a wired headset EX300P, Internal Battery and a screen protector.
The £530 pricing translates to €615 or $840, which might seem to be high for any worldwide markets. This might be the only weakness of Xperia Z, as it might hold back a strong majority of users from buying this phone. There are other alternatives to this phone, as the Nexus 4 has been re-stocked for the US, UK, Germany and Australian Play Stores, the Galaxy S4 is around the corner, the Galaxy S3 keeps selling in big numbers.
The main features of the Sony Xperia Z are the following: the 5-inch 1080p Full HD Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA engine 2, 16 million colors, 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Quad Core APQ8064+MDM9215M, a 13.1 MP camera + auto focus, 2330 mAh battery, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with a planned upgrade to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, it weighs 146 grams, it is water-resistant, dust-proof and it is has been built from a durable tempered glass for both, front and back, sides.
Sony UK accepts pre-orders for the Sony Xperia Z Black model here for £530. There is no official word regarding the release date, as the web site displays only a ‘Coming Soon’ message.
What do you think about the pricing of Xperia Z, do you consider is to be reasonable or too high? Do you plan on buying the Sony Xperia Z or would you choose to wait for the Samsung Galaxy S4 announcement before making such decision?
