The Sony Xperia Z release date is on everyone’s lips lately, which indicates that the new flagship smartphone of the Japan-based company might become a real sales hit. Earlier today we’ve told you about the Xperia Z release date in UK, while yesterday we’ve brought you fresh news about Sony Xperia Z availability in Ireland, Finland and Australia, but now we return with fresh news about when the already-popular smartphone will land in Germany.
While the Xperia ZL is expected to hit the stores in April, it seems that the Sony Xperia Z will be available in Germany as of February 21st, which is no later than next Thursday. The information come straight from Sony Germany official Facebook page, where it says that the smartphone will become available for purchase as of February 21st.
I’m not a good German speaker (in fact my German skills are almost zero), but it looks like Sony Mobile Germany is also holding a context and the winner will attend the Sony Xperia Z launch event that takes place in a Berlin-based store. If you are reading this from Germany or if your German skills go further than mine (almost everyone’s German skills go further than mine), please let us know what is the Sony Mobile Germany press document is saying.
In case you forgot, Xperia Z is the Sony’s first smartphone underpinned by a quad-core processor. The dust and waterproof device boats a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset based on four Krait cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and helped by an Adreno 320 GPU. Xperia Z also comes with a 5-inch TFT capacitive display with full HD resolution, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage and support for microSD cards.
The Sony Xperia Z packs a front-facing 2.2 megapixel camera with full HD video recording capabilities, impressive 13.1 megapixel camera mounted on the back, with autofocus, LED flash, image and video HDR and stabilization, and support for 1080p video recording at 30fps. As we’ve told you an article posted yesterday, the Xperia Z camera is capable of taking 1,000 burst pictures in 68 seconds.
