As you probably know, Xperia Z1S is rumored to be the official name of the Xperia Z1 Mini, which already went on sale on the Japanese market as Xperia Z1F.
According to reports the Xperia Z1S will be underpinned by the Xperia Z1’s hardware platform, so the mini Android smartphone is expected to pop up equipped with Qualcomm’s might Snapdragon 800 chipset with quad-core 2.2 GHz Krait 400 CPU, Adreno 330 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of microSD-expandable storage.
The Xperia Z1S is also expected to borrow the 20.7 MP camera with 1/2.3″ sensor and the water and dust resistant body. Because it’s a mini smartphone, it will reportedly sport a 4.3-inch with the resolution shrunken from 1080p to 720p. Because the Xperia Z1S is smaller than the Xperia Z1 flagship, the battery was also downsized to 2,300 mAh compared to the 3,000 mAh cell of its bigger brother.
The leaked Sony Xperia Z1S photo below was found accidentally on Sony’s website and just like the guys at Phone Arena have noted it can’t be the already launched Xperia Z1F. Why? Because the Z1F has the user-facing camera positioned on its right side, while the handset in pictured below has it on the left. Another clue that indicates that we’re not looking at the Japanese Xperia Z1F is that the NTT DoCoMo branding is missing in action.
Moreover, the phone caught on camera is almost identical to the one in the press rendering revealed by @evleaks. The Sony Xperia Z1S is expected to see the light of day on November 12, as the Japanese phone maker has already sent in some invitations for an event held on the said date in Shanghai.
