Sony Xperia Z2 Ultra Release Date Rumored for MWC
It was expected for Sony to release an Xperia Z2 Ultra, along with the Z2 and now we have a rumor about it. The Sony Xperia Z2 Ultra is going to be a high-end phablet and it might get released once with its smaller brother, the Z2.
Nowadays all Android phone makers have at least a phablet in their portfolio and it’s rumored that even Apple is going to enter this market. Sony already has the Xperia Z Ultra, which is getting a bit outdated and the Z2 Ultra should be released soon to compete with the Galaxy Note 3 and the upcoming HTC One Max 2014.
Most likely the Sony Xperia Z2 Ultra’s release date will be next week, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), in Barcelona. We expect it to feature the best hardware on the market and it might even come with a 2K display.
Unfortunately we don’t have any information about the Xperia Z2 Ultra, but we are pretty sure the phablet does exist, as Sony wouldn’t quit one of the most profitable markets nowadays. But if we are to guess, we think the Z2 Ultra will come with a 2.3Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, a Triluminos 2K 2,560×1,440 display, 20.7MP primary camera, along with a 5MP frontal one. There might be two storage options of 32GB and 64GB, expandable through a microSD card slot by up to 64GB. It will most likely come with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and, as Sony got us used to, it will be water and dust-proof.
If the rumors are true and its release date is really at the Mobile World Congress, then we should see it next week, Along with the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Tablet Z2.
