Sony Xperia Z2 Will Be Sold in the U.S., Release Date Set for Summer

Unlocked Sony Xperia Z2 Will Be Sold in the U.S., Release Date Set for Summer

Sony’s latest flagship, the Xperia Z2 smartphone, will be available in the United States starting with this summer, but it will be sold unlocked through Sony Online Store at first.

US carriers are still reserved when it comes to releasing any info or news regarding the Xperia Z2 availability. There shouldn’t be long until we will get new details about this topic, the sooner the better, so that consumers will be able to make an idea on what device should they be purchasing since the competition is fierce with Samsung launching the Galaxy S5, HTC releasing the all new One M8 device and Google’s Nexus 5 model.

There is no official release date set for the availability of Sony Xperia Z2, but Sony has states that it will take several months for it to happen. The device will surely be sold first from Sony’s online stored and it will be available unlocked. Also, no word has been said on the potential pricing, but we’re thinking that it will revolve somewhere around $600 as this is the price currently set for other flagship phones of Sony’s competitors.

The Sony Xperia Z2 was released with a 5.2 inch IPS LCD Triluminos 1080 x 1920 Full HD screen, 423 ppi, Live Color LED technology, a 20.7 MP camera with G Lens, Sony BIONZ adn Exmor RS, HDR and 4K video recording is supported, a second front-facing 2.2 MP camera, the 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 powers it, 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage with support for up to 128MB via external microSD, a 3200 mAh non-removable battery. It runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Keep an eye on technology websites to find out if Sony will allow carriers in the United States to sell their Xperia Z2. At the moment the only thing that we know for sure is that you will be able to buy the device from Sony’s online website store. This lack on interest from Sony regarding the U.S. market comes from the fact that their previous models sold in the United States didn’t do too well and, that is why the Japanese giant turned its head to other regions such as Asia and Europe.
