Sony Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact to Hit the US on February 7

Even though Sony introduced its Xperia Z5 line-up in September and made it available for purchase on select markets in October, the Japanese company’s latest smartphones are still not up for grabs in the US. Well, the situation will change soon, as Sony announced that both Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact will soon debut on the US market.

Many US customers have already been able to get their hands on the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact unoficially from the stores stocking international units. However, this time we are talking about a release through Sony’s official channels. As for the price, the Xperia Z5 will go on sale at $599.99, while the Xperia Z5 Compact will cost $499.99. For the time being there’s no word about the Xperia Z5 Premium availability in the US.

Both the Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z5 Compact bring high-end specifications and premium looks. As a refresher, the Xperia Z5 features a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS LCD screen, 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB of micro-expandable storage, and a 2,900 mAh battery. It also integrates a 23 MP main camera and 5.1 MP selfie shooter.

On the other hand, the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact packs a 4.6-inch IPS LCD screen with HD resolution, Snapdragon 810 processor, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB storage, microSD slot, and 2,700 mAh battery. Just like its bigger brother, it packs a 23 MP / 5.1 MP camera combo.

Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact are on Sony’s list of smartphones upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow and both units should start getting the update over the past few weeks. Both bring great specifications and should be capable of providing a flawless Android experience.

Would you be tempted to buy any of these two smartphones if they become available in a store near you? Please let us know in comments.
