Sony Xperia ZL Hits Russian Market, Priced of $896
The Xperia Z is Sony’s latest flagship smartphone which has been recently launched. The device is great and comes with some impressive specks that makes it one of the best high-end handsets on the market. However, the Xperia Z has a twin brother which people don’t talk about so much, the Xperia ZL. The latter has almost the same specs than its more popular sibling with only minor differences, the most important one being hat fact that it’t not dust and water proof, but comes with the benefit of being cheaper than the Xperia Z.
The Sony Xperia ZL has been released on several markets so far, and now it looks like the Russians are going to get it too. Actually, the smartphone is already available on Sony’s official online store. News about the Xperia ZL being launched in Russia firstly appeared at the end of last month. The rumor proved to be accurate, and it even guessed the price tag of the device.
So, the Sony official online store has listed the Xperia ZL for 27,490 rubles, the equivalent of 896 US dollars. It’s seems to me that it’s a little bit too expensive, but we’re talking about a premium device here. Plus, this is not such a big surprise as the smartphones and tablets usually cost more in Russia than in other regions like the United States or Europe.
In case you considering buying the Sony Xperia ZL and you’re nit quite sure if it’s worth the money, you should know that it comes with a 5-inch full HD display with a pixel resolution of 441ppi. Even though it’s not water and dust resistant, the display of the Xperia ZL does provide some protection against bumps and scratches. The device is powered by a Qualcomm quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait, helped by an Andreno 320 GPU. In terms of memory, the handset includes 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of on-board storage, which can be expanded with up to 64 GB via micro SD card.
The smartphone sports a 13 MP rear-facing camera with LED flash and autofocus which features Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, image stabilization, HDR, sweep panorama, and it’s capable of recording full HD video. Apart from the primary camera, the phone comes with a secondary 2 MP one in the front . There is nothing else to say besides the fact that the Sony Xperia ZL runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, which the company has promised to update to Android 4.2.
Now, it’s all up to your preferences. You can buy the Xperia ZL or wait until the Samsung Galaxy S4 gets released, though it will probably be even more expensive.
