Sprint has announced that they will launch a new official update consisting mostly of fixes and tweaks for the LG G Flex curved smartphone.
There is no official word on the firmware update’s Android version, but we can speculate that it is the Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The former version of KitKat 4.4.2 had the firmware version set to LS995ZV6. Wwe can assure that this will not be an Android 4.4.4 KitKat build. The new ZV7 firmware update build should be pushed out starting today for all G Flex models across the U.S for Sprint users.
Check your smartphone’s notification panel if you want to be one of the first Sprint users to upgrade your LG G Flex device.
With this brand new LS995ZV7 KitKat Update you will get support for Voice over Wi-Fi, HD Voice Icon, Google Patch for SMS and Security, updated email signature. There are possibly added some tweaks and security patches to repair vulnerabilities that were present in the previous KitKat firmware.
Wait for the new update to arrive in your U.S. region and do not panic in case the firmware doesn’t arrive by the end of this week. The roll out of ZV7 Android 4.4 KitKat software will last until 16th of July and by then all LG G Flex devices on Sprint should get it. Also, note that the update only rolls out for devices that are running 100% stock Android, it won’t be pushed for custom ROM devices.
In case your LG G Flex doesn’t show up the official Android 4.4 KitKat OTA update notification, then you need to know that this can be searched manually from Apps> Settings> System Updates> Update LG Software> tap on Check Now button. If there is a new build available you simply have to confirm the download and installation process so that your LG G Flex start the update automatically.
Tell us below if you found any other major changes in this update after the installation is complete.
