Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 OTA Software Update MK2 Now Rolling out

Samsung Galaxy S4 Software Update MK2

A fix for the Android 4.3 update for Samsung Galaxy S4 is now being rolled out by Sprint. As you’ve probably guessed we are talking about a minor software update, so you won’t be able to notice any big differences between the software you are currently running and the software after the update.

As I was mentioning above, the Android 4.3 software update MK2 for Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 is now being rolled out and, according to the change log published by the US-based carrier, it “resolves sleep mode issues.” Therefore, if your Galaxy S4 was affected by this bug you might notice slight battery life improvements after you perform the OTA update.

As usual, the Sprint Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 OTA Software Update MK2 is being rolled out in phases, therefore not all users will get it today. If you didn’t receive the system update notification yet, you know the drill: head to Settings > More > About Phone > System Update > Check for Updates and check for it manually.

As a refresher, the Samsung Galaxy S4 sports a 5.0-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, quad-core 1.9 GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16/32/64 GB internal storage with microSD card slot, 13 MP rear-facing camera with 1080p@30fps video recording, 4G LTE, WiFi, NFC, IR blaster, and a 2,600 mAh battery.

Any Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 users out there? Have you guys received the MK2 software update? Please let us know in the comments section.

Maybe I just got it right now. I don’t know. But I’m about to install it. I just wanted to search about it before doing so…

  • Troy

Yes I have received the update. Now they need to update where the phone plays the correct ringtone especially when you have one set for certain people.

  • Jack

Yep I just got it. Slight improvements but I wasn’t expecting this update at all so I’m happy. Only took 5 min obo and used 3? of my battery.

Received this update yesterday and tried to install it today. Its been trying to install for 2 hours!! Beware!

Might want to just do the upgrade to Cyanogenmod. Leaves everything TouchWiz based in the dust. The stock Android experience is truly something to be admired.

Make sure to install ClockworkMod first using ODIN 3. Touchscreen recovery mode is a godsend.

My S4’s display started to glitch and flash and which caused a force reboot…

I got notified of the system update (MK2) at about 3:30 am EST (as soon as the phone booted back up from the crazy display thing it did lol)

I run on WiFi so the update took less than 5 minutes from start to finish.

No change noticed so far but the surprise update was appreciated regardless.

How do you BLOCK it? It did download the “file” to my phone but I have not “installed”it yet. I want to get it OFF my rooted phone. I like my phone the way it is… In the “upgrade”4.3, they took the option of rejecting upgrades….away. Sprint (MJA). I want to know where it put this file…
