We told you yesterday that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update was made available to the T-Mobile LG G2 owners, but at that time there was no OTA update. If you wanted to update your LG G2 to Android 4.4.2, you would have to download the update from T-Mobile’s support page then install it manually with the LG Mobile Support tool.
Now the Android 4.4.2 update for T-Mobile LG G2 is also available over-the-air, so if you didn’t want to mess with LG’s PC utility, you would now be able to download it directly from your device. Usually, when the update is ready for your device you receive a system update message in the notification area, but it’s also worth to perform a manual check under Settings > General > About Phone > Update Center > System updates > Check now.
The new firmware update for the T-Mobile LG G2 is labeled D80120a and, as usual, it’s being rolled out in phases, which means that only some of the T-Mobile users will be able to download and install it right away. However, the new software update should become available for most T-Mobile LG G2 owners in a week or so.
The T-Mobile support page recommends to charge your phone over 50% and have at least 147 MB of available memory.
Aside bringing the usual KitKat treats like transparent status and navigation bars, white status bar icons, cloud printing, immersive mode, or full screen album and movie art in the lockscreen, the Android 4.4.2 OTA update for LG G2 also arrives with minor user interface tweaks, performance improvements, and bug fixes.
