The Android 4.0 ICS update release date for Galaxy Note delayed by Samsung
Unfortunate news for the Galaxy Note users has been announced by Samsung; the long anticipated and also promised Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS update has been delayed. It seems that Samsung is messing with our nerves as only a few official updates were released since Google made available its ICS version of the Android platform. So, until further news, we just have to get used to this. Anyway, along with the delay announcement Samsung provided other interesting info, which I have detailed below.
As already stated, the Android 4.0 ICS update release date for Galaxy Note was official delayed by Samsung for a Q2 event. But, leaving this aside, the same company stated that when the OS will be provided it will come with some extra “goodies” for the Note users. First, the update will be named “Premium Suite”; nothing special so far. Then, extra features will be added into the system, something like a gift for our patience.
The Galaxy Note designed ICS will feature applications like the Shape Match, Formula Match and My Story for enhanced S Pen functionality. The software which stands behind the S Pen functionality will make it work even smoothly then before, more capabilities being included. This, according to Samsung, will offer an improved tablet experience, a good thing considering that the Note is something between a smartphone and a tablet though it’s hard to manipulate a phone that has such a large display.
If you can’t remember, the Galaxy Note is featuring a 5.3 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen along with a 1 GB of RAM memory, a dual-core 1.4 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, an 8 MP camera and Android Gingerbread on board. The specs are impressive, but we are all expecting the ICS release.
But if you just can’t wait, you can always install one of the numerous unofficial operating systems which are being available for download. Here at Android.gs we have brought you tutorials in which you can learn how to apply OS updates for your Galaxy Note, such as the ICS Android 4.0.3 XXLP1, the Gingerbread XXLC1 2.3.6, or the XXLA6 2.3.6 one. Remember you can always install these by following our how to guides; check them out.
Now, regarding to the official release of the Galaxy Note Android 4.0 ICS OS update, Samsung also said it will include exclusive levels of the Angry Birds Space, which by the way has just been pushed on the market. That’s all we manage to find so far, but stay close as we will update you with fresh news as soon as something comes out. Also, check our guides because any OS update that is released will be explained by us in an easy to follow tutorial.
