Toshiba has just announced a new line of high-end tablets, coming in three sizes. The new tablets will be called Toshiba Excite 7.7, Toshiba Excite 10 and a really big one, the Toshiba Excite 13.
All of them will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 CPU, 1GB of RAM and a 5MP camera capable of recording HD video. Each of them will be really sleek, thin and made of aluminum.
According to Toshiba, the Excite tablets should have an impressive battery life thanks to the 4-PLUS-1™ mobile quad-core CPU.
Toshiba Excite 7.7
The Excite 7.7 is the only one that comes with an Amoled display, because current technology doesn’t allow for bigger ones. It also sports a microUSB post, microSD slot, along with the features we listed for the Excite line. It should be priced at $500 with 16GB of internal memory and you have to add $80 to double it. Toshiba announced that a 64GB version isn’t planned and it will only be released if customers request it.
Toshiba Excite 7.7 is scheduled to be released on June 10th, once with the Excite 13 and one month after the 10″ version.
Toshiba Excite 10
The Excite 10 features a 1,280×800 720p HD display, backed by Gorilla Glass, and comes with SRS Audio support. In terms of connectivity, the Excite 10 has one microHDMI and one microUSB port, along with a SD card slot. Toshiba advertises a 10 to 12 hours battery life.
It will be priced at $450 with 16GB, $530 with 32GB, and $650 with 64GB, being released on May 6th.
Toshiba Excite 13
Toshiba Excite 13 is really big for a tablet, sporting a 13.3-inch 1,600×900 resolution display, being called HD+. Along with the Excite 10’s specs, it comes with a tablet stand, weights 2.2 pounds and is 0.4 inches think. This one will only be available in 32GB and 64Gb, being priced at $650 and, respectively, $750. Release date for the Excite 13 is June 10th.
