TF300

At the beginning of the month, Asus began rolling out the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update for the Transformer Pad 300. However, those of you who have the bootloaders of the device unlocked, probably aren’t able to install the software. In case there are some of you who feel left out and want to try all the  Jelly Bean goodies, there is another way.

The Taiwanese company has just launched the full 4.2.1 ROM for the TF300. Just like any other update, the software will come with absolutely all available enhancements and bug fixes. The upgrade will also provide all the usual Android 4.2 Jelly Bean functions such as the quick settings, lockscreen widgets, multi-user possibilities, etc.

Before you flash it into you device, bear in mind that the upgrade is available for three distinct variants of the handset. All I’m saying is that you should be very careful and choose the right one. The update Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean update has around 500 MB, thus if you don’t have the best internet connection, it will probably take a while for it to be downloaded, so be patient.

You don’t have to install the update coming from Asus if you don’t want to. There are other options, for instance the ROM developed by CyanogenMod. The guys are known for doing a good job, and you’ll probably be happy with the ROM.

Still, if you want the official release, than you can get it from HERE. Once you install the Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean update, you will notice that your device will work much smoother and you’ll enjoy all the cool features that will come along. Also, Asus is known for its reliability when it comes to software updates, so you won’t experience any problems.
