The firmware loaded and I got the ‘pass’. Still can’t get into recovery mode, unless it takes a LONG time holding UP and POWER. Screen brightness pulses every minute or so. Been going for 5 minutes or so on the Samsung screen.

Phone says, “Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Keis and try again.” This is probably why Keis failed at first. Stock SGH-i717 with Gingerbread, was anyway.
