CyanogenMod is the most popular custom ROM for Android and now it’s more simple than ever to update your build to the newest one. Now it’s possible to update your CyanogenMod ROM with just one click directly from their website, by using either your computer or Android device.
This feature may be preferred mostly by those who love to test nighlies, as they are updated very often and it was a bit of a hassle to download it every time, copy it to the device and flash it. CyanogenMod uses ROM Manager feature called Web Connect.
How to setup CyanogenMod’s one click update with ROM Manager
To be able to use the Web Connect feature, you need ROM Manager Premium connected to your Google account, because it will use Google’s push notifications. Also if you have more devices you will be able to assign a name for each of them to recognize them easier.
Afterwards you will have to link CyanogenMod’s service to your Google account and this can be done on their downloads page. From now on, every time you will be logged into your Google account you will be able to update the Android smartphone with just one click.
The download should start almost immediately after you click the link on CyanogenMod’s download page, so check your device a few seconds after.
Lately many apps started making use of Android’s push notification feature and it can often prove to be very useful. Hopefully more developers will adopt the feature and we will be able to easily update most of our custom ROMs this easy.
Please let us know if you have any issues with this and we will do our best to help you. If you have any other problem or don’t know how to update or root your device, feel free to use our search feature and you will find very useful guides and the latest ROMs.
