Samsung Galaxy Note Update To Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Pushed By AT&T

We told you earlier today that Verizon has started to push the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for its Samsung Galaxy Note 2.  Now, it’s time for AT&T to do the same thing, this time for the original Galaxy Note phablet. You’ve heard me well, as of today you will be receiving the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for your Samsung Galaxy Note, in case you are an AT&T subscribers, of course.

I think you all know that the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update will come along with various new improvements and features such as Google Now integration, Project Butter (which will improve the performance of your handset), rich notifications and other Jelly Bean standard enhancements. However, since we are talking about a smartphone that comes with a stylus, Samsung and AT&T have included other features that are specific for this kind of device.

These specific updates will reach build number I717UCMD3, and will include features like Popup Video Browser, Popup Note and more Samsung branded improvements. Among other enhancements, the manufacturer says that the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update will also improve the keyboard and phone call quality.

Usually there are two ways to download and install a software update on a Samsung product, but sadly the owners of the Galaxy Note will only have one option, namely the Samsung Kies desktop app, as the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is not available over the air. Of course, an OTA update would be more handy, I think the users won’t complain so much if we take into consideration that the highly awaited firmware upgrade is finally being pushed.

The Galaxy Note owners are very lucky to receive the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update considering that the handset was released in October 2011, and now we are talking more about the Galaxy Note 3. AT&T and Samsung are being fair to the original Note and this is always a nice thing.

Have you installed the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update yet? Tell us about it in the comment section below. In case you want to install a custom ROM on your Galaxy Note check out the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note update section on our website.
