Good news for the owners of the Samsung Galaxy S Advance I9070 as the manufacturer has confirmed that the device will be updated to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. For now the software upgrade is available only n three European countries, namely Germany, Poland and Ukraine, but the update will be further pushed in other countries, as well.

In case you live in one of the mentioned countries, you can download and install the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update using the Samsung Kies desktop application. The update will provide you will all the Jelly Bean specific features such as Google Now integration, Project Butter for better performance, enhanced notification system and other improvements and big fixes. You’ll see a big difference between Android Jelly Bean and the old software you have been using so far.

Even though we are not sure about the size of the update, these kinds of files are usually hefty so it might take a while to download, thus you have to be patient. It would have been nice if the software upgrade would have been available over the air, but considering that the handset is not among the popular Samsung products, it’s good that the company is even releasing an update for it in the first place.

The Samsung Galaxy S Advance was released back in April 2012 and it features a 4-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 800 x 480 and a pixel density of 233. The handset is powered by a dual core Cortex-A9 processor clocked at 1 Ghz, which is helped by a Mali-400 GPU. It also includes 768 MB of RAM, 8/16 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. The smartphone has a 5 MP rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash, and check quality and a 1.3 MP camera on the front.

Unfortunately, the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update won’t be available for all the Galaxy S Advance models. To be more exact, the software won’t work for the handsets in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Also, the company has not made any public statement about when the update will reach the devices in the other countries in Europe, but when we will find out we will certainly let you know.
