You probably are aware of the fact that the HTC One is currently the most powerful smartphone of the Taiwan-based company, but if you happen to own a HTC One X+ we are glad to announce you that the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean software update packed with Sense 5 has started to roll out in the phone maker’s home country.
The HTC One X+ was released on the market in November 2013 running Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. Well, the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for HTC One X+ is now live in Taiwan and the surrounding regions and the new firmware comes with a couple of new neat features.
Besides the Android 4.2.2-specific features like Daydream, Lockscreen Widgets, the Quick Settings button and improved notifications, the HTC One X+ firmware update also brings some Sense 5-specific features like BlinkFeed, updated music upp, and camera app enhancements.
Anyway, one of the most important improvements brought by the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for HTC One X+ is related to the battery life of the smartphone. Besides boosting the HTC One X+ battery stamina, the new update will also allow you to display the battery percentage in the status bar.
The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for HTC One X+ is rolling out via OTA, being sized 484 MB. Since the firmware update file is pretty big, we are advising you to download it through a WiFi network in order to avoid damaging your mobile data plan. If you haven’t received the Android 4.2.2 update notification yet, it’s worth trying to search for it manually. In order to do so head to Settings > About Phone > Software update and tap on the Check for updates button.
Even though the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for HTC One X+ is currently available only in Taiwan, it seems that the firmware update will be rolled out in more regions over the next 30 days.
I remind you that the HTC One X+ packs a 4.7-inch Super LCD2 display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, while being underpinned by quad-core 1.7 GHz Tegra 3 CPU with ULP GeForce 2. The HTC One X+ technical specs also include 1 GB of RAM, 32/64 GB of internal storage, and an 8 megapixel camera capable of recording 1080p@30fps videos.
In terms of connectivity, the HTC One X+ comes with LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, and microUSB 2.0.
