A couple of days ago, we told you that the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update has started to roll out for the LG Optimus L9, the European version. Now, the company is getting ready to roll out the firmware upgrade to two more of its devices, namely to the LG Optimus 4X HD and Optimus L7.
LG Germany confirmed that the LG Optimus 4X HD and Optimus L7 will receive the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update by the end of March. However, not all the owners of the smartphones will receive the update in the same period of time, and the phone maker specifies that the owners of the LG Optimus 4X HD and Optimus L7 who have their handsets branded by a carrier will need to wait a little longer. In this case the update process takes a while longer as that certain carrier has to approve it first.
LG Germany has even posted the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean changelog on it blog. So, after the users of the LG Optimus 4X HD and Optimus L7 update their devices to Android 4.1.2, they will receive new features like project butter (allows a smoother usage), enhanced responsiveness, constant frame rate by Vertical Sync, improved notification system, Google Now, improved NFC thanks to Android Beam 2.0, WPS support, and more.
In case you own an LG Optimus 4X HD or an Optimus L7 and want to get the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update, you must Utilize the LL Mobile Support Tool that will allow you to download and install the upgrade. Unfortunately, the update will not be available OTA.
Installing a software update on a smartphone can be tricky sometimes, and we recommend you to backup your date before starting the process. In case you haven’t done this before, you got all the instructions you need along with the full download on the LG Germany’s official blog.
You should expect that the Android 4.1.2 update for the your LG Optimus 4X HD or Optimus L7 to be available in any moment. You can check the blog from time to time. After you install the update, do tell us about in the comment section bellow.
