Before I had the latest 2.3.6 update as well. You can do it. It took me two days to learn about and do it but it’s possible. You may run into some issues but it was pretty good for me.

Tip: Search the comments for 2.3.6 and bell. Two other guys I have have it working there.

Works pretty beautifully. Much, much, much better. I’m not sure on the battery life yet. I’ve yet to test it but I’m hoping it’s okay.
