Thank you for the steps. I was able to download the latest ICS onto my Motorola Defy Plus, and install the same. The first boot after the installation did get stuck at the Cyanogen 9 screen.
Solution:
Waited for about 20 minutes to make sure its stuck.
Pulled out the battery, put it back.
Booted to the recovery mode (‘Vol -’ + ‘Power’)
Wipe the data and cache (select wipe data/factory reset)
Reboot once its done.

ICS looks very good in Defy Plus!!!

I stay at thane..no issues where ever u stay please tell me..I will come to you..I am scared to even root my phone as I have no idea to this procedure..so if I come to you, maybe you can make the procedure easy for me..

I m from Mumbai- Dahisar… Have u rooted your phone yet ?? If not then please root it as there is no other way of updating it to ICS using CM9.. follow the steps correctly as mentioned in the previous link.. CM9 might be risky as its still under testing… even I have not updated to ICS … By the way where do you live in Mumbai??

Please tell me where are you from..are u from Bombay or some other place?? A Motorola has not launched any updates for android version, i need to know how should i install CM, as i want to upgrade my phone to a stable ICS firmware. I am currently on Android 2.3.6. So please tell me how do i get to upgrade my phone. I am a complete newbie to all this as i have never tried or done the rooting as well as the above upgrade i have mentioned. So please help me.

I’ve rooted and installed clockworkmod, on the recovery mode doesn’t show the “install zip from sd card”, what should i do?

I used super one click to root my Defy +. What a non event that was! Done in 2 reboots!
But when I go recovery mode to upgrade it only offers to run update.zip from the SD card. Has anyone renamed CM9-NIGHTLY-120706-Defy+.zip to update.zip and managed to upgrade their phone? please email if you have done so
