Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update for Samsung Galaxy S2 Rolling Out in India

If you are reading this from India, you might actually pop the champagne as the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S2 is now officially rolling out in the Asian country.

Even though the Samsung Galaxy S2 isn’t considered a high-end smartphone anymore, it still remains a great device especially for the customers who don’t want to spend a lot of money for a new handset, or simply don’t have the money. While you can’t change the hardware on an older device to make it better, a new version of Android certainly helps. Samsung has tried to do its best in releasing software updates for its devices, but it still has some versions of the Galaxy S2 that need to be updated to Android Jelly Bean.

Of course, some Galaxy S2 variants have been already updated, but not all of them. Now, it’s time for the Galaxy S2 users in India to receive the good news as the their phones are getting the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update, according to Fone Arena. The software is being pushed as we speak and it’s available over the air. However, sometimes it takes some time until you receive the notification for downloading and installing the software, and in case you don’t want to wait for it you can always install the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update through Samsung Kies.

However, if you want to install the Android Jelly Bean update OTA, make sure your phone is at least half charged because the update file is pretty big. Also, you may want to find a good Wi-Fi connection if you don’t want the downloading process to take for ever. After you install the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update, your Samsung Galaxy S2 will be enhanced with lots of new features like the Project Butter performance booster, Google Now, Smart Stay, rich notifications, as well as a new UI similar to the Galaxy S3, the Nature UX.

The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean is probably the last update released for the Galaxy S2, except for the minor ones (Samsung will probably roll out Android 4.2.2, as well, but the difference won’t be so noticeable like the jump from ICS to Android 4.1). Google will soon launch Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, but the Galaxy S2 won’t be among the devices to get it.

India is not the only country that received the Galaxy S2 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update, the company has also rolled out for the users in South Korea, and a big part of the European countries Canada, too. There is no word about the update being pushed in the US, but the users probably won’t have to wait much longer.

Now let’s hear it from the people in India. have you got the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update yet?
