Mine won’t update. Keeps saying download unsuccessful when I try OTA and the Verizon updater says I’m up to date w/version 4.3.

That sucks. I saw the update at like 6 am and started it. When I woke up again I was running Kit Kat.

Mine got hung for some reason, but I just went in the “about phone” menu and restarted it. After a bit, it completed and all is now good to go. All you can do is keep trying. It may be a carrier thing as they sometimes do that. My old Droid RAZR wouldn’t update for the longest time… but my wife’s phone had no issues. They were bought on the exact same day and were the same phone. I contacted Moto and Verizon and they gave me the run around. After trying repeatedly for weeks, I was able to FINALLY update. Hopefully you don’t run into something like that.

Do not update to kitkat until let’s say 4.4.6 is released down the road. I recently did the OTA 4.4.2 update and now I might as well carry a battery backup with me. I’ll be lucky to get a half a day out of the battery. Do your self a favor do not uupgrade. How ever only downfall to not upgrading is the constant notifications you’ll will get to upgrade, I guess which will also drain battery. . Good luck and stay safe with jelly bean. .

I upgraded and have had no issues at all with my Note 3, be it battery or otherwise. Sorry to hear about your issues.

My Note 3 updated just fine, but now it is taking forever to send messages, any ideas on why?

  • Tye Boogie

After the update I noticed that when I look at people’s Facebook pictures they show up way smaller than usual. Is anybody else experiencing that as well?

Anyone else having audio-notification problems? Even after changing my notification settings and rebooting a few times. I get no audio noti when I received texts, facebook nots, etc….

    • Eric

My notification light continues to blink even after I’ve checked the same notification numerous times. Also when I go to reply to a text message the words don’t type (using swype) If anyone has any solutions besides resetting to factory I’d love to hear them. Galaxy note 3 = biggest waste of my hard earned money.

Mine is stuck in safemode…. after multiple reboots! Help!

  • vladimirpinchaloafsky

Be forewarned. I updated my new Note 3 that came with 4.3, ruined my phone, texting totally unreliable, battery impacted, call quality , wifi connectivity many many issues, texting being the worst have made my new $700 phone a standby for the 4.2.2 gnex, mine is tmobile, but I’m reading kitkat is terribly flawed , I’ve done multiple factory resets and lost photos and data. Proceed at your own peril.
