The Verizon Galaxy S3 users will receive an OTA update for their handsets in the coming days, as the new firmware, dubbed as VRALHE, has just been leaked through the Verizon official website. Unfortunately, this is still an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade and not the “coming soon” announced Jelly Bean one and I just wonder when we will actually see the official Android 4.1 OS running on the Version SGS3. Anyway, for now, we should concentrate on the present VRALHE OTA update, which is coming with several important improvements and bug fixes.
As you know, several weeks ago, the VRALHD software was leaked for the Verizon S3 devices though the firmware didn’t get official (the only way for flashing the same was by applying a manual method and that by using Odin). The mentioned update was made available for fixing the “No SIM card” bug, but it seems that it wasn’t enough. That’s why, now the ICS VRALHE OTA update will be offered for the Galaxy S3 users, the software bringing the next improvements:
- An enhanced zooming feature will be added into the web browser and email apps system.
- Resolved several bugs so that the device reset issue will be reduced.
- Enhanced stability and improved user experience in Google Play.
The Verizon Galaxy S3 OTA update has the size of 68MB and will be offered in the coming days. You can easily install the same, because all you need to have is a charged battery on your phone and WiFi connectivity enabled. You can check whether the firmware is available or not by going to “Settings -> About phone -> System updates”. That’s all for now, but we are expecting further info about the highly expected Jelly Bean OTA release, so stay close.
