According to the latest rumors, LG is planning to release a new handset during this month. I’m talking about the Lucid (first announced as the Cayman), an entry-level smartphone, which will be embraced by Verizon.
As usual, LG is choosing to offer a low range device rather than a powerful, high end gadget, relaying on the users preferences for cheap, but decent, phones.
Anyway, we have the first details about the upcoming Verizon LG Lucid specs, price and release date, so check it out and see if you find it on your taste.
First, as you can see in the image above, the design is not that impressive. The smartphone is looking rough, unfinished, creating a cheap, plastic-made impression. Leaving the appearance aside, the LG Lucid will be featuring a large four-inch, WVGA NOVA display, which is capable of 700 nits of brightness. With this, you will be able to enjoy your favorite movies, or pictures on a high quality.
Furthermore, the Lucid specs are rumored to include a dual-core 1.2GHz processor , 1 GB of RAM memory, a 5 MP rear facing camera capable of 1080p recording along with a front-facing VGA one, support for 4G LTE connectivity and 16 GB of internal storage memory. As you can see, there are decent performances under the hood. This 4G LTE device will be released in Verizon’s stores under the VS840 number, being somewhere between the LG Spectrum and the LG Enlighten.
As for the operating system, the handset will be featuring the Android OS, with Gingerbread on top of all. Unfortunately, the 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is out of the question, a big disappointment for all of us. The Verizon LG Lucid release date apparently will be this month, on the 29th. From what we have heard, the price tag will be somewhere under 200$, a fair one if you ask me. Stay close for further aspects.
