Verizon Motorola Moto X Receives Major OTA Update with Improved Camera Software

The Verizon Moto X will start to receive a big OTA Update today. The default operating system remains Android 4.2, but it comes with a much better camera technology that should fix some of the bugs found in the ROM that came with the device.

Check the phone’s Software Update menu to find out if the latest firmware has been pushed out for your Verizon Moto X.

There are multiple other tweaks and improvements added, so that Moto X owners will get a more refined and smoother Android 4.2 Jelly Bean experience. The news has been confirmed by Motorola. It seems like the update brings better Calling Voice Quality, bug fixes and others more.

Android 4.2 software version 139.15.1.ghost_verizon.Verizon.en.US is the complete name of this OTA Update for Verizon Moto X. As you can see, the default OS remains set to Android 4.2. There is no official word regarding the possible release of Android 4.3 for this particular device, but hopefully, it will be released this year.

The update should appear in the notification panel, simply click the alert and then wait until the smartphone completes the installation. When the new firmware has been successfully downloaded, simply click Install and wait until the process completes.
