The long awaited and also announced Android 4.1.1 OTA update for the Samsung Galaxy S3 has been already made available by numerous retails from different markets, though there are still users who are hardly expecting the firmware to be provided by their own carriers. This can be applied for the Australian users of the Galaxy S3, which are looking for the Vodafone Jelly Bean OTA update from a while now, as Telstra and Optus are offering the OS improvement as we speak.
But things are about to get changed because Vodafone Australia just announced the official Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean OTA (Over The Air) update release date. Apparently the ROM will be made available starting with November 26, so only a few days left until the big event.
Of course not all the devices will receive the software at the same time, meaning that you will have to be patience and temporarily look for updates on your phone. Anyway, Vodafone stated that all the Australian users of the SGS3 will be able to apply the Android 4.1.1 OS within 14 days of the initial release, which is not bad at all.
As already mentioned, the Jelly Bean software can be OTA received and installed, or if you prefer, you can use Samsung’s KIES tool for doing the same operation. Of course in that case you will need to use a computer with Internet connection enabled. That’s all for now, so what do you say, are you ready for the Jelly Bean flavor? Do tell us how things are working with the update and if there are problems in receiving the same by using the comments area from below.
