There have been a lot of rumors and leaks about Sony Xperia Honami or i1, but now we have a white version of it. This time a Chinese website managed to get their hands on the white Sony Xperia Honami and they have pretty high quality photos of it. This leads us to believe the leaks are true and Sony is really working on a new device.
As you can see in the photos, they even compared it with the iPhone 5 side-by-side and it seems to be really big.
Along with the photos, we also have a lot of new information about the device. It features a 20.7 MP camera with a 1/2.3 sensor, which is really nice for a smartphone. Sony Honami should also come with a Snapdragon 800 processor and a resolution of 1,920×1,080, though we don’t have any news about this, unfortunately.
Other rumored features include 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and a 3,000 mAh battery. It’s probably going to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S4 / upcoming Galaxy S5 and HTC One. And as Sony got us used to, this is just a codename and the official name and it might be released as the next-gen Sony Xperia Z.
Sony Xperia Honami doesn’t have any frontal physical buttons, featuring Google’s standard soft keys, it comes with a 3.5mm audio jack on top. It has the power button on the right side and volume ones on the left. And on the bottom right side it seems to have one more button, but we didn’t manage to figure it out.
We expect the release date to be in September, at IFA Berlin, especially that we’ve seen a lot of leaks lately, which means the device should be ready pretty soon. Along with this, we have Sony’s teaser for September 4th, though they didn’t disclose what they’re going to release.
All we know for sure right now is that Sony Xperia Honami looks really nice and it comes with amazing features. Hopefully it will be released at IFA and we’ll be able to get our hands on it soon. Meanwhile if you own a Sony Xperia Z, you can install a ported version of Sony Honami’s camera on your own device.
What do you think about this device ? Do you think it’s going to be the next Sony Xperia Z ?
