Amazon has just released their new tablet and ebook readers lineup: 2012 Kindle Fire, 7-inch Kindle Fire HD, 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD, and Kindle Paperwhite. Fortunately all their new products are now available for pre-order and will begin shipping very soon.
First, the 2012 Kindle Fire is a revamped version of the original tablet. It comes with better hardware specs and a lower price tag of $159.
The 7-inch Kindle Fire HD features a 7-inch display and looks mostly like the old version, but it sports better internal. A 1.2Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage definitely match the $199 price tag and are more than enough for a tablet designed especially for books, music and movies. Amazon’s Appstore also features over 50,000 apps and games, along with over 22 million pieces of digital content. A 32GB version is also available for $249. Shipping will begin as of November 20.
The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD features a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor with a better GPU and also 16GB of storage. It has mostly the same features present on the 7-inch version, except the display size and processing power. A 32GB version is also available for $369. This tablet is expected to begin shipping on November 20.
The 4G LTE 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD is the most expensive Amazon tablet yet and can provide you a very high download speed, if available from your carrier. The 32GB one is priced at $499, while the 64GB version costs $599.
Amazon has also released a new ebook reader, called Paperwhite. It features illuminated screen and it comes in two versions: WiFi ( $119/139 ) and 3G ( $179/$199). It will be available as of October 1st.
