Well, ZTE Grand S is not the thinnest smartphone in the world, but since its profile drops below the 7 mm threshold, it will be one of the thinnest on the market. We’ve heard about this terminal before, but now we get to see it making the headlines again, with some new details about its technical specifications.
When you talk about high-end smartphones you don’t usually think at Chinese companies like ZTE, Huawei, or Meizu, even though they are making pretty interesting and powerful smartphones, too.
The problem is that the Chinese smartphones doesn’t go global, not even the high-end ones. Huawei and ZTE are known on certain markets rather for their telecom equipment, than for their smartphones.
Anyway, going back to ZTE Grand S, the terminal is only 6.9 mm thin, being almost 2 mm thinner than Samsung Galaxy S3 or HTC One X.
The smartphone features a 13 megapixel camera and we will probably see it in flash at both Consumers Electronics Show in Las Vegas and Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, in early 2013.
ZTE Grand S comes with a 5-inch display, a powerful Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset with four Cortex A15 cores, 2 GB of RAM, and a price of around $449, contract free. Well, at least that’s the price for the Chinese market.
There are five pins on one side, which made me think of a dock station, therefore, we might see an accessory compatible with ZTE Grand S, as well.
