ZTE today announced the launch of the nubia Z11 miniS smartphone in the Indian market. Originally announced last year, the nubia Z11 miniS has been priced at Rs.16999 in the country, putting it head-to-head against the Moto G5 Plus which went on sale in the country only a few days back. The nubia Z11 miniS will be available exclusively from Amazon India starting March 21st at 4PM IST in Moon Gold and Khaki Grey color options.
The ZTE nubia Z11 miniS features a premium design with aircraft-grade aluminum used for the build. It features a 5.2-inch sized display with 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution, 450 nits maximum brightness and an impressive 1500:1 contrast ratio. The display is protected by a layer of 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass on top, although the exact version hasn’t been made public by the company. Like most other smartphones in this range, the nubia Z11 miniS too runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC under the hood, clocked at 2GHz. In terms of memory, the smartphone features 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 internal memory, which is further expandable by up to 200GB with a microSD card. However, you should note that the smartphone includes a Hybrid dual SIM slot, so you will not be able to expand the storage further if you must use both SIM slots.
The main USP of the ZTE nubia Z11 miniS is its 23MP resolution main camera. ZTE is using a Son IMX318 sensor, which has been paired with an f/2.0 aperture 6P lens. On the front is a 13MP Sony IMX258 sensor with an f/2.2 aperture 80-degree wide-angle lens. A unique feature of the smartphone is its ability to beautify videos on the fly, which should appeal to active social media users. The fingerprint scanner is positioned at the back, claimed to unlock the device in mere 0.2 seconds. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy, GPS with GLONASS, USB Type-C port, and 4G VoLTE. The battery inside the handset is a 3000mAh unit without support for fast charging. This is definitely a little disappointing though, as rival Moto G5 Plus does come with fast charging support. Another slight disappointment is the fact that the nubia Z11 miniS runs on the outdated Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out of the box, with the nubia UI 4.0 custom skin running on top.
